The LM5160 family is a 65-V, 1.5-A synchronous step-down converter with integrated high-side and low-side MOSFETs. The constant-on-time control scheme requires no loop compensation and supports high step-down ratios with fast transient response. An internal feedback amplifier maintains ±1% output voltage regulation over the entire operating temperature range. The on-time varies inversely with input voltage resulting in nearly constant switching frequency. Peak and valley current limit circuits protect against overload conditions. The under-voltage lockout (EN/UVLO) circuit provides independently adjustable input under-voltage threshold and hysteresis. The LM5160 is programmed through the FPWM pin to operate in continuous conduction mode (CCM) from no load to full load or to automatically switch to discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) at light load for higher efficiency. Forced CCM operation supports multiple output and isolated Fly-Buck applications using a coupled inductor.
The LM5160A shares the same features and pin configuration as the LM5160. An external bias supply can be connected to the VCC pin of the LM5160A in either Buck or Fly-Buck applications. This additional capability can improve efficiency at high input voltages.

三相逆变器电源参考设计
This reference design provides isolated positive and negative voltage rails required for Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) gate drivers from a single 24-volt DC input supply. Utilizing a Fly-Buck™ control topology, this reference design uses a single transformer for generating power rails for all three arms of the 3-phase inverter.  It uses primary-side regulation and can achieve good cross regulation without opto-coupler feedback or an auxiliary winding. The isolated outputs are generated through the coupled windings of the transformer. The voltage rails for all the high-side IGBTs are individually isolated, whereas the voltage rails for all low-side IGBTs are combined.

• Isolated power supply with 24V±20% input range that supports 6 IGBT gate drivers for 3-phase inverter (each arm in half-bridge configuration)
• Low-ripple (<200mV) bias outputs (+15V & -8V) with output power of 2.3W for each IGBT of the 3-phase inverter
• Fly-Buck topology provides easy-to-design multi-output isolated power supply solution with primary side regulation
• Peak efficiency of 82% at balanced full-load
• Output capacitors rated to support up to 6A peak gate drive current
